Overview
The word “PERSONAL” is what makes this sign unique in the firearms restriction category — and it carries a specific meaning that neither “No Guns Allowed” nor “No Concealed Weapons” can communicate. “Personal firearms” draws a clear distinction between privately owned weapons brought onto the premises by individuals and any weapons that may be present by institutional authorization — security personnel, law enforcement officers, or licensed armed guards. This distinction matters enormously for Los Angeles businesses that employ armed security, venues that host law enforcement events, and facilities where authorized weapons may be present by design while personal carry remains strictly prohibited.
The ANSI-standard blue “NOTICE” header frames the restriction as an official institutional policy rather than a general warning, lending the three-line “NO PERSONAL / FIREARMS / ALLOWED” text in the white lower panel the weight of a formally posted notice. This sign is particularly valuable for security-conscious businesses — jewelry stores, cash-handling operations, financial institutions, private event venues, and any Los Angeles commercial property that maintains its own authorized security presence while needing to make clear that individually owned firearms are not welcome on the premises regardless of permit status. The large 24″ × 18″ horizontal format ensures the notice is fully visible at lobby and entry-level distances.
